NECAA Cross Country Championships 2019 : Alnwick Castle
AFTER an interval of 25 years the North Eastern Counties Cross Country Championships return to the Duke of Northumberland's 'home' where the 10-race programme will unfold under the backdrop of Alnwick Castle.
In 1994 the first-ever European XC Championships ran in tandem with the 'North Easterns' hence the return to the venue which has proved extremely popular for North East Harrier League fixtures during the intervening period.
Alnwick Harriers have worked diligently over the past 12 months to make sure everything is in place for the young and not so young to make it a championship to saviour so, with that in mind, it would be fitting if we could see as many of your members as possible on the start line to make it a truly memorable occasion.
Championship secretary Archie Jenkins has already been in touch with a number of athletes who were gold medalists 25 years ago and is hopeful that they will be in attendance and maybe can find time to be part of the presentation team.
Entries for the championships, which take place on Saturday, December 14, close on November 22. On no account will entries be accepted after that date.
