NEHL 25-26 Eltringham Farm - 21/03/26

SFNEHL Final fixture 2025/26 ELTRINGHAM FARM

Welcome to details regarding the season's final fixture, a new course at Eltringham Farm. Many thanks to Alex Hughes, Prudhoe Plodders and the landowners (Moralee Herefords) for making this possible. You'll enjoy the course! A great variety of terrain with a few features!
Eltringham Farm - Prudhoe Plodders 20/03/26

There will be plenty of marshals.
The site is accessed via the A695 at Mickley, turning to descend Station Bank (the same turning for Cherryburn National Trust site). Turn into the parking area, left through the gate around 20 metres after the houses (South View), appox what3words location decanter.hotdog.watches. There will be marshals there to direct you into the parking. There will be a one way system in operation for the parking, exiting via a gateway lower down Station Bank.

PLEASE FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS GIVEN BY THE MARSHALS AND PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON STATION BANK OR ANY OF THE HOUSING AREAS (WE'D LIKE TO HAVE A CHANCE OF A RETURN AND IT'S TAKEN A LOT OF WORK BY A LOT OF PEOPLE TO GET THE FIXTURE).
PARKING WILL BE £5 (CASH), £1 OF WHICH WILL BE DONATED BY THE LANDOWNER TO THE NORTH EAST AMBULANCE SERVICE.

NO DOGS AT THE EVENT PLEASE. IT'S A WORKING FARM WITH LIVESTOCK.

As at the map the U11's will basically run a lap of the start/finish/ tent field, keeping close to the perimeter.
The U17s will complete a smaller lap (ABCJKLMN) plus a large lap.

Hi all, as promised on Tuesday, here is the amended large lap, the change being a more straight forward J to K (H-I-K on the original). The small lap for the U17s is unchanged and the U11 still follow course around the perimeter of the tent/start-finish field (yellow arrows at the original map).
The course will probably support fell shoes or spikes (you'll have to decide what length on the day - but an educated guess at 9mm). There is a stoney rough path section around G to after H at this map. The vast majority of the rest is fields. Obvioulsy fairly flat at the bottom part of the course (near the river) but also some climbs bearing in mind the high point of the start/finish. Enjoy!
Many thanks, and enjoy!

NEHL Alnwick Castle Pastures = 28/02/26

NEHL Alnwick XC info

Alnwick harriers are looking forwards to hosting the XC this weekend on Saturday 28th Feb 2026.
Information for runners
* Parking - all parking will be at the castle gardens car park. It is advised you go up the A1 to the Denwick turn off and back down to the car park to prevent traffic backing up to the town centre. This will also mean you get priority to turn in to the car park over people coming from the town. It’s £2.50 to park and it’s card payments only.
There is a 30-45 min busy period where the attendants can’t park you quick enough and that is around 12:15-1pm. You could be waiting for a while to park so please try to avoid arriving at that time.
* Dogs are permitted but if you can leave them at home, it would be much better. We really ask for it to be dog prohibited but as the public can walk through the pastures with their dog, we can’t mandate a ban. They must be kept on a short lead and under control. Plus, you can only take them on the defined paths. There is livestock and no dog should be going in to an area where there are animal, even on a lead.
* tent drop off. There is a picture of how to do it. Follow directions of marshals to get you off the road. Do not stop on the roadside, come in to the entrance of the park, drop your tents, etc. by the path and then leave using the one way system. You can use this system at the end to pick everything up.

* Blue badge parking. There is a very limited number of parking spots in the area of tent drop off but this is likely to be reduced this year due to mud. If you have a blue badge and cannot get a parking spot, you can drop passengers off/ collect passengers in the same way tent drop off happens.
* Athlete drop off. This is mainly for parents who try to drop athletes off on the road. But also for those who are late. Please do not stop on the road at all. Your 30 sec times by 100 cars causes huge blockages on the road and ambulances have struggled to get through on occasion. Instead, please come off the road as if you were dropping tents off.
